Teacher of the Month

Our November Teacher of the Month is Glen Pufahl. He has been a teacher and band director at Lakeside for over a decade and has a great rapport with the student body. Some student comments we received about Mr. Pufahl are:
- Mr. Pufahl's students always know they can talk to him about whatever, and he is always up for a game of Uno with them.
- He is one of the kindest teachers in the building. He is always smiling and saying hi to students in the hallways. He is also very caring and has a servant's heart.
- Mr. Pufahl makes class fun and talks to his students as if they are adults but doesn't let them misbehave.
The following comments came from alumni and parents:
- He is always there to talk if students need someone to talk to. He is super supportive of our ideas and treats us as people. He also does so much for the music department and organizes multiple large music festivals.
- Mr. Pufahl will literally help LLHS in ANY WAY. We NEEDED a BUS DRIVER...why not? Seriously, HE DRIVES THE BUS ... anyone who can take on that job should be nominated for sainthood!
- Mr. Pufahl really goes the extra mile to help students feel like they belong. Mr. Pufahl is the teacher who always starts with HELLO. My kids have never taken Band, but they have had Mr. Pufahl for homeroom, English and Religion. He leads a lot of amazing discussions that encourage students to think about how they feel on a certain topic, but encourages them to also see other people's perspective. Mr. Pufahl is deserving of an award because he is the kind of person who makes it his goal to make sure that all of his students have a positive story to tell at the dinner table each and every day. To me, this is the most important part of the job. Both of my kids have learned some very valuable life lessons from him and when they look back on their LLHS journey, they will each remember a time when Mr. Pufahl made their day!
Mr. Pufahl’s love of Lakeside goes back many years as he is also a Warrior Alum. He is often noticed by his students and peers for the enthusiastic way he participates in themed dress-up days and appreciated by the faculty and staff for his willingness to gather people together for fellowship and camaraderie. We are so thankful to have Mr. Glen Pufahl as our November Teacher of the Month!
Overview of the ToM program
The Lake Mills Rotary Club is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating outstanding educators who make a significant impact in the Lake Mills public and private schools. Our Teacher of the Month program aims to honor exceptional teachers, encourage excellence in education, and foster a strong connection between the community and local schools.
With the goal to recognize and reward two teachers each month for their dedication, innovation, and positive influence on students, one teacher will be recognized from the Lake Mills Area School District staff, and one teacher will be recognized from either St. Paul or Lakeside Lutheran staff.
If there is a Lakeside teacher who has done something exceptional or been an amazing influence on your Warrior, please fill out a form! Any questions can be directed to Missy McKenna at:[email protected]
