Teacher of the Month

Our September 2025 Teacher of the Month is Bill Tomlin. In his second year at Lakeside, he has quickly become a student favorite. Some student comments we received about Mr. Tomlin include:

• "He always has a positive attitude in school, even when it's been a long day. He also knows how to have fun in the classroom while also getting a lot of work done in class so we rarely get any homework."
• "He is one of the friendliest faces in the building. He connects with his students even when he is having a rough day. He keeps his students in mind and asks them for feedback on his teaching. He gives many opportunities for his students to talk about what they like and dislike about his class, and he adjusts to fit the needs of his students."
• “He makes a boring Literature class fun! He is always involved and trying to help all of us out whether it is in or out of school.”
• “Mr. Tomlin is one of the most caring teachers I have ever met. He takes the time to get to know every one of his students. He calls us by name, talks to us, and genuinely cares. Even though I don't have him as a teacher this year, he still greets me in the hallway. So many students stop by his classroom to say hi because he has made such an impact by being so welcoming and kind…He is honest and doesn't treat us as inferior. He is clearly passionate about what he is teaching, and he gets excited about every book we read. He takes feedback from students and actually listens to us because he wants to be the best teacher that he can be.”

What an amazing impact Mr. Tomlin has had in his short time here at Lakeside! When he is not in the classroom you can often find Bill on the golf course for leisure AND coaching our girls golf team. He also assists with our girls basketball program. Lakeside Lutheran is delighted to have Bill Tomlin chosen as our September Rotary Club Teacher of the Month!
