Teacher of the Month

Our May Teacher of the Month is Nick Trebesch. He has been teaching for 15 years with the last 5 teaching at Lakeside. He serves as the chair of our Math department. He also organizes all of our Math Teams as well as our in-house elementary school math meet. On the coaching side, Nick is the Junior Varsity baseball coach. When he is not busy connecting students with his students at Lakeside, Nick is busy at home with his wife and 3 young children.
Students are truly excited when they see Mr. Trebesch on their schedule. Some comments we received about him are:
- "His energy and love for teaching is unmatched and it shows in how he carries himself in the classroom and also in the hallways. He's always greeting you with a smile and shows genuine interest in your academic life and also what you like to do outside of school. Mr. T does a great job teaching AP Stats by making it interactive, engaging the students' minds while learning. At the end of the year, he wrote us a really heart-felt letter wishing us God's blessings on our exam."
- "He makes an effort to connect to the students even if they are not in his class."
- "Mr. T deserves to be recognized as Teacher of the Month because he is frequently going out of his way to ensure that his students have the opportunity to succeed. He makes each one of his students feel seen and heard. He gets to school early to help students with their questions and stays late after school too. You can really just tell how much he loves his job and loves to see his students learn. This is why he deserves this recognition."
- "He is always consistent and a very good communicator. He also makes the classroom fun and is always accountable."
One of the many ways that Nick encourages our students is by writing a myriad of "fridge-worthy" postcards to parents letting them know how their student shines at Lakeside. Those small bits of encouragement go a long way to building up our student body. We are thrilled to have Nick Trebesch as our May Teacher of the Month!
Overview of the ToM program
The Lake Mills Rotary Club is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating outstanding educators who make a significant impact in the Lake Mills public and private schools. Our Teacher of the Month program aims to honor exceptional teachers, encourage excellence in education, and foster a strong connection between the community and local schools.
With the goal to recognize and reward two teachers each month for their dedication, innovation, and positive influence on students, one teacher will be recognized from the Lake Mills Area School District staff, and one teacher will be recognized from either St. Paul or Lakeside Lutheran staff.
If there is a Lakeside teacher who has done something exceptional or been an amazing influence on your Warrior, please fill out a form! Any questions can be directed to Rachel Richart at: [email protected]
