2023 Team Results
On Monday, Nov. 6, your LLHS hosted the Capitol Conference Academic Bowl. They placed 2nd, the best showing in Lakeside team history.
The competition began with students taking a written individual test. For Lakeside, 15 students competed in three categories: English; Social Studies (Geography, World History, US History); or Science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Science). One student from each grade level participated in each category and three "at large" students (from any grade) competed in a current events competition.
Three Warriors took first in their individual tests: freshman Lexi Krahn in English 9, sophomore Malachi Fredenberg in English 10, and junior Bella Alvarez in Biology.
An oral round followed, where all the team members in each category answering questions together on a single device. In English, Lakeside tied for first with Belleville.
At the end of the evening, Belleville took the conference title with 659 points, and LLHS took second with 648.
