Veterans Day

Lakeside Lutheran High School would like to recognize and honor veterans who served in our country’s armed forces. We invite you (and a guest) to join us on Wednesday, November 6 for a light breakfast at 8:15 during which time you will hear from our speaker, Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Dahlie.

Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Dahlie began his military career when he enlisted as an Administrative Specialist in the Army Reserve in 1996 and joined the 432nd Civil Affairs (CA) Battalion in Green Bay.  In 1999, he attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA to learn Russian. The next year he deployed to Kosovo as part of KFOR 2A. In fall 2001, LTC Dahlie transferred to the Wisconsin Army National Guard and joined the 1-147th Aviation Battalion. He graduated from UW-Madison with a BA in Marketing and received his commission through ROTC in Dec. 2003. In 2004, he left for the Initial Entry Rotary Wing training at Ft. Novosel, AL. Upon graduation in 2005, he returned to the 1-147th where he began his officer career.

LTC Dahlie has held numerous assignments in the 1-147th including BN Operations Officer (S3), Assistant Operations Officer, and D Company (CO) Commander. He deployed with the 1-147th to Kosovo as part of KFOR 8 in 2006-07 and Iraq in 2010-11. He also served as the Rear Detachment Commander for the 1-147th in 2017-18 and the Joint Task Force-64 S3 in support of the COVID mission in 2020-21. In addition, LTC Dahlie has held assignments in the Aviation Directorate at Joint Forces Headquarters, including the State Aviation Operations and Training Officer and the State Army Aviation Officer. LTC Dahlie is currently serving as the 1-147th Aviation Battalion Commander.

LTC Dahlie is a Master Aviator qualified as a UH-60M Pilot in Command with over 1,900 flight hours and is a superior graduate of the United States Army War College (2024). LTC Dahlie is the full-time Deputy Chief of Staff – Aviation and Safety and resides in Madison, WI with his wife, Michelle, and three children, Tyler, Brianna, and Ethan.
