Trapshooting Team
New in the 2024-25 school year is our trap shooting team!
Lakeside is part of the SCTP Scholastic Clay Target Program, which is a national shooting organization for students elementary through college. Within that organization, LLHS is a member of the Southeast Wisconsin Youth Trapshooting Conference, which is separated into two divisions, small schools and big schools. Lakeside is part of the small school division.
Each week, co-ed Warriors compete against an area school, with each member shooting at 50 targets. The top 5 scores from each team are compared, and the higher number wins that week. They shoot at the same location (Deerfield Rod and Gun Club) for each week of the season, and the scores are entered online. The regular season is eight weeks long.
This year, Lakeside only has a full JV and partial Varsity team. To field a Varsity team, participants must be in SCTP for at least 2 years. According to advisor Caleb Kasper, "We are a new team, so the only ones that meet that criteria moved from other teams to be a part of ours. Because the top 5 scores from each team get recorded, and we only have 2 varsity guys, they lose every week (despite their amazing shooting ability)."
