Decades of Faithfulness
“Teach me your ways, Lord.” (Psalm 86:11 NIV)
God will never ever ever let you down. Do you believe that? We all experience let-downs as we go through high school and beyond. Life in this sinful world is, in many ways, a series of let-downs. But God will never be one of those let-downs. Every promise he has ever made to you has come true, or will come true sometime in the near future. God made you, and he has been with you ever since you took your first breath. He has forgiven you, and has worked all things in your life for something good, even the “bad” things that have happened to you. He has prepared a place in heaven for you, and right now he’s preparing you to meet him there as he forms you and reshapes you with his Word. You will never meet a friend more faithful to you than God. This fills us with hope as we look to the future because we know that “his faithfulness continues through all generations.” As we enter into this school year, we know that God will continue to bless us, just as he has done so in the past. As we prepare for life beyond high school, we know that God will continue to walk with us, just as he is doing so today. We “rely on his faithfulness” every day. God’s faithfulness to us inspires us to be faithful in every aspect of our lives. While more and more people walk away from God and his Word, we will “hold unswervingly to the hope we profess.” The world in which we live wants us to abandon God, and it will persecute us if don’t. But we will remain “faithful, even to the point of death” because we know that God will give us eternal life as our “victor’s crown.” May God bless us with a school year characterized by faithfulness – God’s faithfulness to us, and our faithfulness to God and to each other.

In spring 2018, your LLHS successfully underwent the process of re-accreditation. As part of this process, the committee asked a number of random students and adults on campus for one word that describes Lakeside. The results became the graphic you see here.
(The more often a particular word was given as a response, the larger it appears.)
