FAQs

Does Lakeside limit or restrict admission?
Lakeside Lutheran High School offers Christian secondary education to anyone who desires a high school education based on the Word of God. As Acts 10:34-35 says, “God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right,”

Lakeside Lutheran High School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin, nor disability, insofar as the administration of its educational policies, scholarship programs, athletic and other school-administered programs are concerned.
When is registration open?

Enrollment typically begins in late November or early December; the enrollment fee for the upcoming fall rises after Jan. 31. Students choose classes after enrollment is processed, beginning in January and continuing through the spring. In-person registration nights in July/August are used for student ID photos and Chromebook pick up.

If you've missed the deadline, contact Principal Don Schultz (920-648-2321x2202 or [email protected]) or Admissions Director, Steve Lauber (920-648-2321 ext. 2218; [email protected].)

Look for the "elementary family highlights" calendar for specific registration night dates for the upcoming year here.

I’m interested in attending Lakeside—where do I begin?
Contact Mr. Steve Lauber, Director of Admissions ([email protected] or 920-648-2321 x2218). He'll arrange a tour and a time to meet with your family. He LOVES answering questions!

What can I do after graduation?
Graduates of Lakeside Lutheran use the diverse talents God has given them. You can go into the military, go directly to work or a trade school, or attend a two-year or four-year college of your choice. Lakeside Lutheran alums have found success in pursuits outside of their vocations, too.

Do I need to take a world language?
If you are going on to college, most admissions require two years of a world language class (LLHS offers German, Latin and Spanish). However, a second language is not a requirement to graduate from Lakeside Lutheran.

What are the music requirements at Lakeside Lutheran?
Music helps you praise the LORD the rest of your life and helps you develop as an individual. Freshmen must be in chorus—or the student may participate in band, and opt out of Freshmen Chorus.

Where is Lakeside Lutheran located?
Our beautiful, residential, 30-acre campus is located at 231 Woodland Beach Road, Lake Mills, Wisconsin 53551.

How will I get to Lakeside each day?
The cost of busing is included in your tuition! This is a significant benefit for Lakeside families who wish to utilize it. Six bus routes run to all corners of our federation. Carpools are also a popular option. In addition, some students drive their own or a family car each day.

Why is Lutheran education so expensive?
The total cost of educating students at Lakeside Lutheran is met through a combination of funding from our 32 federation congregations, private donations from individuals and businesses (including Twice Is Nice Resale Store in Jefferson) and by your tuition. While it is true that we receive funding from the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program, funds from each voucher do not meet the cost of education per student.

One way to save for tuition in addition to planning years ahead is by enrolling in our Scrip program— ½ of your yearly profits go to Lakeside Lutheran and ½ can go to your tuition. You can even have relatives and friends save Scrip profits in your name!

So Lakeside Lutheran is a "Bible School"?
In the literal definition of the words, no, we aren’t a Bible School. However, our focus is on the Word of God in everything we do. God’s Word is used in theology class, chapel devotions and every class is taught in the light of God’s Word. The gospel and the law are used to motivate and discipline students. Also, we emphasize that your faith in Christ is lived every minute of every day. Your faith is not just for church or at school.

What service opportunities can I be involved in?
Lakeside has many groups to encourage service to our Savior, school, and community, including but not limited to Bands and Choirs praising God, and National Honor Society and Teens for Christ, who regularly schedule service opportunities. The theology department also facilitates Operation GO, a mission trip program available in the summer months for students 16 and older. In addition, different homerooms and team/clubs do things during the year to serve others out of love for Christ.

Do I need to bring my own lunch every day to school?
You certainly may if you wish. However, Lakeside offers two choices of hot lunch each day, made fresh daily in the school kitchen. The meals are in line with what the government requires. Items other than the entrée are self-serve to satisfy even large appetites. Families may participate in the Federal Free/Reduced lunch program if eligible. See more about online lunch payment accounts and reduced lunch program here
