It's time to sign up your son or daughter for the ACT if you haven't already done so. The ACT test is required for admission to a 4-year college or university. The recommended dates are Saturday, April 8 or Saturday, June 10. Lakeside is not a test site, but most local public schools offer it. The deadline for signing up for the April 8 administration is next Friday, March 3, and the deadline for June 10 is May 5. Parents are responsible for signing up their son or daughter at www.act.org. The cost for the test is $42.50 or $58.50 for the ACT plus writing.
The spring of a student's junior year is also a great time to go on college visits or to go on job shadows. This Google Slides presentation that was shared with Juniors during small group meetings also gives some insight when it comes to next steps.
Wednesday, April 26 has been designated as junior job shadow or college visit day. The freshman and sophomore classes are testing on that day, the seniors will be on their class trip and the juniors have no school. Don't let this opportunity pass!
