FFA Myths

1. I have to show at a fair or live on a farm.  Not required. Today, only 2% of Americans are producers. Most of us are 3 generations removed from the farm. Similar to 4-H, some members are involved with their families in projects at fairs, but not all. If you want assistance to develop a project, Lakeside connections can help you.

2. It’s all work and no play. Travel, Homecoming fun and parades, Kinderfest petting zoo, pursuing your passions, FFA Week games and competitions, pies in the face, faculty kissing farm animals. Sounds like a lot of work, doesn’t it?

Importance of Ag Education

Agriculture is a part of the backbone of our state economy, with 435,700 jobs and $104.8 billion.

FFA, Ag Survey and other Technical Education classes at LLHS help students to learn through hands-on curriculum and modern technology. Course offerings include:

• Agriculture Survey
• CAD 1/2
• Woods 1/2/3
• Construction Trades
• Small Engines
• Metals Technology
• Advanced Career Tech
• Youth Apprenticeship (up to 4 semesters)
