Phyllis Huska

I am a graduate of Lakeside (1969) and—after a year at WLC and two years at DMLC—graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a degree in elementary education and a minor in library science.

My husband, Jim, a CPA in Lake Mills, and I have three children, all Lakeside graduates: Sarah (Eric) 1994, Peter (Kathryn) 1996, and Meghan (Paul) 1999. We also have five grandchildren.

I've been the librarian at LLHS since 1992. When I started there were piles and piles of donated, unprocessed books and am now privileged to have a beautiful room with a view of the courtyard and a patio and 16,500 books. In addition to the usual ordering, processing, and reshelving of materials I also help all grades with their research papers. I maintain scrapbooks of Lakeside activities throughout the year and house files of archival materials. The library is here to support the curriculum, the teachers and the students.

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (This is my confirmation verse.)
